MIAMI — Copa Airlines has taken delivery of the first Boeing 737 MAX 9 as part of an order for 61 737 MAX planes that were ordered back in April 2015.

The aircraft registered as HP-9901CMP was delivered from Boeing Field to Panama City on August 31.

During the official presentation, held on September 18, the company outlined the destinations that will be visited by the 737 MAX 9 this year, of which seven are in the US.

During its first week of operations, starting on September 20, the 737 MAX 9 will fly to Tampa (TPA), Miami (MIA), and Los Angeles (LAX).

The MAX 9’s first revenue flight will be on the Panama City – Tampa route on September 20. Flight CM393 will depart PTY at 9:05 arriving at TPA at 13:30, returning as CM394 from TPA at 15:24 arriving at PTY at 17:48.

After a quick 50-minute turnaround, the aircraft will fly to Miami, its second route as flight CM427.

The aircraft will depart PTY at 18:38 arriving at MIA at 22:45, staying overnight and leaving the next day as flight CM173 at 6:00 arriving at PTY by 8:10.

Moreover, the route that connects PTY and LAX, which is one of the company’s most important routes, will see the MAX debuting on September 22, operating the flight CM360 departing PTY at 7:53 arriving at LAX at 12:45, and returning as CM362 from LAX at 22:00 arriving PTY the next day at 6:37.

In November the aircraft will also fly to Orlando (MCO) and New York (JFK)

Orlando will receive its first CM 737 MAX 9 flight on November 3, when flight CM446 arrives at 12:29 and returns to the Hub of the Americas as flight CM479 at 14:16.

Two days later, on November 5, New York (JFK) will receive flight CM804 arriving from PTY at 23:35 and leaving back home as CM807 at 00:55.

Finally, the aircraft will land in Boston and Las Vegas just before the end of the year.

On December 21, the MAX 9 will debut in the Panama City – Boston route with flight CM311 departing PTY at 12:34 arriving BOS at 18:19.

Las Vegas will be the last destination where Copa will send its brand-new 737 MAX 9. On December 29 the aircraft will land at LAS as flight CM456 at 22:30, and will depart the next day as flight CM253 at 00:32.
