MIAMI — Brussels Airlines is about to take delivery of three Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100s, in a lease from Irish Airline CityJet, luchtzak.be reports.

The aircraft (EI-FWA • MSN 95102 / EI-FWB • MSN 95108 / EI-FWD • MSN 95111) will be leased during three years. The first of these, EI-FWD, will arrive tomorrow to Brussels from Venice, where it received the standard Brussels Airlines livery.

It is expected that the aircraft will be incorporated into Brussels Airlines fleet on Sunday, March 26, operating flight SN3615 to Nice at 06:00 local.

According to information from CH-Aviation, one of the aircraft will serve Berlin Tegel, Basle/Mulhouse/Freiburg, in Switzerland and Copenhagen Kastrup, with the other taking care of Vienna and Geneva. Weekend operations will cover service to Prague, Nice, Venice Marco Polo, and Bologna in Italy.

Eventually, the SSJ100s will take over the flights to Edinburgh, Milan Malpensa, Birmingham, Hamburg, Kraków, Bordeaux, Gothenburg Landvetter, Milan Linate, and Warsaw Chopin.

CityJet will fly the services with its own crews, but to Brussels Airlines’ operational standards. The aircraft will keep the 98-seat single-class configuration.

The Irish carrier is the only Western European operator of the Superjet SSJ100, of which it has 15 aircraft on order. They will be used to replace its own Avroliners and for wet-lease to other airlines.
