MIAMI – The first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner for Singapore Airlines (SQ) is almost ready to be delivered.

According to Boeing, the aircraft still has to go through the painting process, system checks, fueling, and engine runs to be delivered in the first half of 2018 at their Final Assembly facility in North Charleston, South Carolina.

“Boeing is excited to have finished final assembly of the first 787-10 Dreamliner for Singapore Airlines,” said Dinesh Keskar, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & India Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

In March, the Boeing 787-10 made its first flight, which was a total success for the manufacturer. Singapore Airlines is the launch customer of the type and has 30 units on firm order.

The airline signed a letter of intent in February to purchase 19 additional 787-10s, adding up to 30 that are already booked as a firm order.

SIA’s Dreamliners will be operated on the airline’s medium-haul routes.

Singapore Airlines’ fleet is composed of 110 aircraft from four different families: Boeing 777, Airbus A380, Airbus A350, and Airbus A330.

The 16 Airbus A350-900 SIA has in service replaced their already retired Airbus A330-300, Boeing 77-200 and 777-200ER.

The carrier still has in order 51 Airbus A350 to replace their 22 A330-300, 11 Boeing 777-200 and 10 Boeing 777-200ER in service that will be retired between 2017 and 2019.

Singapore Airlines has currently in service 19 Airbus A380-800, five Boeing 777-300, and 27 Boeing 777-300ER.

In addition to the order of 51 A350, SIA has five orders for Airbus A380-800 aircraft and 30 orders for Boeing Dreamliner 787-10. British Airways also has 12 Boeing 787-10s ordered that will be delivered between 2020 and 2023.
