JAL Group’s long-haul, low-cost arm, ZIPAIR (ZG), has announced that it will increase its flight frequency between the competitive Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) route by offering extra flights on certain days.
ZG currently operates one daily return flight, ZG51/ZG52. From January 26, 2025, to February 28, 2025, ZIPAIR will add a flight to complement this service. The new ZG55 will fly from NRT to BKK, departing Tokyo at 1430 and touching down in Bangkok at 1945 local time. ZG55 will fly five times a week, with service on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
The return flight, ZG56, leaves Suvarnabhumi at 0752 on January 27, with a scheduled arrival time in Narita of 1510. This service will also be flown five times a week, operating on Tuesday instead of Wednesday and Saturday instead of Sunday.
Both ZG55 and ZG56 are temporary services designed to help service the busier Winter travel periods. They will be terminated on March 1, 2025.
Four other airlines fly the BKK-NRT route, namely Thai Airways International (TG), All Nippon Airlines (NH), Japan Airlines (JL), and ZG’s direct LCC competitor, Air Japan (NQ)- ANA’s low-cost offspring.
