DALLAS — San Francisco International Airport (SFO) celebrated United Airlines’ (UA) announcement of nonstop service from SFO to Panama City, Panama, starting May 22, 2025.
United, the largest airline at SFO, intends to provide daily year-round service utilizing Boeing 737 aircraft. UA will be the sole U.S. carrier offering service to Tocumen International Airport (PTY) from SFO.
“We are very excited to welcome nonstop United Airlines flights from SFO to Panama in 2025,” said Airport Director Ivar C. Satero.
“This latest service represents United’s ninth Latin destination from SFO, and their fourth to Central America. We thank United for their continued commitment to SFO, and we are confident this new service will be a success.”
United previously announced nonstop flights from SFO to Monterrey, Mexico as of October 2024, Belize starting December 21, 2024, and San Jose, Costa Rica starting May 22, 2025.
The news follows UA’s report that current bookings to European destinations are up nearly 30% compared to 2019 and almost 10% versus last year, as Americans prioritize experiences over spending.
