DALLAS – United Airlines (UA) is expanding its Pacific network by adding new services to Manila, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Adelaide.
If approved, the routes to Thailand and Vietnam will make UA the only U.S. airline offering nonstop flights to those countries; with Australia and the Philippines, UA will serve 32 destinations in the Pacific, solidifying its position as the preferred U.S. carrier in that region.
New Route Highlights
- Bangkok, Thailand: United will be the only U.S. airline to provide daily service to Bangkok, starting October 26. The new service, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will offer excellent connections for travelers eager to experience Thailand's rich culture and vibrant city life.
- Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: On October 26, United will also launch daily service to Ho Chi Minh City, the first U.S. airline to do this. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will cater to travelers looking to relish the city’s history, street food, and vibrant atmosphere.
- Adelaide, Australia: United will also become the first carrier to connect the U.S. and Adelaide with nonstop service starting on December 11 this year. The seasonal route from San Francisco, operating three times weekly, will be served by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and will enhance United’s robust network in Australia, which already includes services to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
- Manila, Philippines: Starting October 25, United will add a daily flight (providing a second same-day option) between San Francisco and Manila, with the choice to fly during the day or at night. Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, this service will enhance connectivity in both directions between the U.S. and the Philippines.
Moseying Up the Pacific
United has 32 Pacific destinations, which is four times more than any other U.S. carrier, thanks to these new routes. Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, stated: “United is transforming the travel experience by providing the widest access to the most destinations across the Pacific. Whether guests are traveling for leisure, business, or discovery, our enhanced network offers travelers even more opportunities to experience vibrant cities and iconic destinations.”
Tickets for the Adelaide and other Manila flights are now for sale on the United website and app. Sales will begin later on flights to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.
