DALLAS — On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Thai Airways International (TG) and Gulf Air (GF) announced a new partnership to expand their networks.
This new move means that in addition to the already existing codeshare route between Bangkok (BKK) and Bahrain (BAH), TG will be able to provide codeshare services on flights operated by Gulf Air from BKK via BAH, connecting to cities such as Cairo, Kuwait City, Amman, Casablanca, Athens, and Manchester.
In return, GF will be able to offer passengers codeshare flights from BKK, operated by TG, to both domestic and international destinations. Domestic destinations include Udon Thani, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Krabi, Hat Yai, Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani, and Chiang Mai. International destinations include Hong Kong, Sydney, Singapore, Melbourne, Denpasar, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta.
Comments from New Airline Partners
Thai Airways and Gulf Air both expressed enthusiasm and reiterated their commitment to global connectivity. A press release from TG said that they were “delighted to collaborate with Gulf Air to offer our passengers new and exciting travel opportunities. This partnership will provide seamless connectivity to prestigious destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, while also generating new revenue streams for THAI."
Gulf Air reciprocated this opinion, saying that the “expanded partnership with Thai Airways reaffirms our commitment to providing seamless and enriching travel experiences. This strategic move enhances operational efficiency across our networks and provides our passengers with even greater choice and convenience, connecting them to even more exciting destinations across Asia and Australia via Bangkok.”
