SAS, Virgin Atlantic Sign Codeshare Agreement

DALLAS — SAS (SK) and Virgin Atlantic (VS) have announced a new codeshare agreement launching in October 7 and introducing new destinations, including Barbados, Antigua and Jamaica.

The codeshare partnership will allow SK customers to connect via London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to additional VS' destinations, with availability expanding as approvals are finalized.

On their part, VS customers traveling on flights from the US and Canada can purchase seamless onward connections through London and Manchester, onto SK services to Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Stavanger and Bergen.

After SK joined SkyTeam on September 1, of which VS is the sole UK carrier, SAS EuroBonus members will have immediate earning and redemption options while flying on VS. Additionally, Flying Club members will be able to earn and use points across all SK services.

Additionally, SAS EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members, as well as VS' Gold - Flying Club members, can benefit from SkyPriority services at LHR, which include priority check-in, luggage handling, and boarding. VS' Gold and Silver Flying Club members can use SkyPriority services and SAS lounges in Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen, and Oslo airports.

Through this new agreement, the SkyTeam members are well set to strengthen "vital business and leisure connections to and from Scandinavia."

Subjects A through C are presented in this first of three volumes. Covering topics such as the airlines of Alaska at the time of statehood and Canada's regional airlines of the 1960s, the individual histories of such carriers as Allegheny, American, Braniff, and Continental are also included in Volume One.
