DALLAS – Qatar Airways (QR) has reintroduced flights between Hamad International Airport (DOH), and Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS).
The Doha-based carrier has relaunched year-round direct flights to LIS in Portugal, from its hub in DOH. The airline previously operated this route but suspended it some time back. QR recommenced this service on June 6, making Lisbon the 47th European destination served by the carrier.
"As we continue our network expansion in the European market, we are thrilled to welcome back Lisbon to our global network of more than 170 destinations. This addition reaffirms the airline's dedication to connecting people and places, making international travel more accessible and convenient across our global network,” said Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori.
Expanded Route Network
Lisbon is the latest addition to QR’s global network of more than 170 destinations. The city opens up a new entry point for international travel from Europe to the Middle East, Africa, as well as the Indian subcontinent.
Some of the most popular destinations for travelers from LIS include Bangkok (BKK), Delhi (DEL), Denpasar(DPS), Kathmandu (KTM), and Male (MLE).
Taking advantage of the high seasonal demand for travel to LIS, QR will operate services to LIS year-round, with six weekly flights during the summer of 2024. With scenic beaches, thriving cosmopolitan cities, and several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, LIS is an ideal base for travelers eager to explore Portugal’s rich tourism and cultural offerings.
