DALLAS — Porter Airlines (PD) is set to enhance its summer 2025 schedule with increased capacity across North America. The expansion includes new routes, the continuation of select winter services into summer, and added frequencies on existing routes.
With these changes, domestic flights will now account for 80% of PD’s total network capacity, up from 75% in the original summer plan. While some U.S. routes will see frequency reductions, the airline’s overall Canada-U.S. presence will be 25% larger than last summer—good news for transborder travel, given the recent headlines.
This expansion is backed by adding 10 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, bringing Porter’s fleet to 44 jets, with plans to grow to as many as 100. These jets operate alongside the airline’s 29 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft regional fleet.
“Our goal is to fly where our customers want to travel, and this is a moment Canada is at the top of many people’s list,” said Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines. “We are adding routes and increasing flights in regions across the country to meet this demand.”
Expanded Domestic Network
Porter’s updated domestic schedule introduces new routes and increased service on several key routes across Canada. Among the highlights:
- A new route between Moncton and Toronto Pearson Airport, complementing existing service from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Ottawa to Moncton.
- Doubling Hamilton-Vancouver service to 14 weekly flights due to strong pre-booking demand ahead of its June launch.
- Montréal-Vancouver and Toronto-St. John’s services both doubling to 14 weekly flights.
- Enhanced connectivity across Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, and Halifax hubs.
Other notable peak summer schedule updates include:
- Vancouver-Toronto Pearson: 6x daily
- Victoria-Toronto Pearson: 12x weekly
- Charlottetown-Toronto Pearson: 7x weekly
- St. John’s-Toronto Pearson: 14x weekly
- Kelowna-Toronto Pearson: 7x weekly
- Deer Lake-Toronto Pearson: 3x weekly
- Thunder Bay-Toronto Pearson: 7x weekly
- Calgary-Toronto Pearson: 4x daily
- Montréal-Vancouver: 14x weekly
- Hamilton-Vancouver: 14x weekly
- Hamilton-Calgary: 6x weekly
- Hamilton-Edmonton: 7x weekly
- Hamilton-Halifax: 7x weekly
- Victoria-Ottawa: 7x weekly
- Halifax-Deer Lake: 7x weekly
Expanded U.S. Service
Porter is also enhancing its presence in the United States. New routes launching this spring include Toronto Pearson to New York LaGuardia and Montréal to New York Newark. Additionally, the airline is extending its seasonal winter service into summer for popular destinations like Phoenix and San Diego, while also increasing capacity for Las Vegas and San Francisco.
“Porter has increased capacity in the U.S. by 25% year-over-year,” Jackson noted. “Based on our current spring bookings, the number of passengers traveling on Porter across our transborder routes is outpacing our capacity growth, demonstrating strong traveler demand for Porter’s elevated experience.”
