One Air Adds Third Boeing 747-400 Freighter

DALLAS — British cargo charter airline One Air (HC) has added a Boeing 747-400ERF, call sign G-ONEF, to its fleet, bringing the total number of its cargo aircraft to three.

“The arrival of our third 747-400 and its increased capacity and capability will enable us to provide more availability to our growing client base.”, said the company’s Chairman & CEO, Paul Bennett.

The aircraft has joined One Air on a five-year lease from the Moldovan cargo airline Aerotranscargo (F5). It is the first in the British charter airline fleet to offer both a nose door and side door, reducing the loading/unloading time and improving its turnaround efficiency.

Moreover, this cargo plane is an Extended Range Freighter model, or ERF. It offers several advantages compared to its predecessors, such as an increased payload (up to 124,000 kg) and a 40% more operating range at maximum weight.

To support its increased operations, HC has recruited 27 new employees, including flight crew and support staff. Its total workforce has now surpassed 125 aviation and cargo professionals.

About One Air

One Air was founded in 2021 and officially began its Boeing 747F flights in 2023 after receiving the air operator's certificate (AOC) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. The company’s inaugural flight was from London Heathrow (LHR) to Jinan-Shandong in China for its client Shandong Glory. The company moved its operations afterward to the central UK airport of East Midlands (EMA).

This airport is compatible with the charter airline’s business model, offering many benefits, including slot availability and fewer restrictions around night flying compared to airports near big cities. EMA is now the origin airport of HC's weekly flights from the UK to Hong Kong.

The company now serves many locations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. These destinations include Almaty, Amsterdam, Astana, Châteauroux, Hahn, Hong Kong, Jinan, Larnaca, Maastricht-Aachen, Muscat, Shannon, and Singapore.

Furthermore, One Air has also operated charter flights from various airports in the UK, including LHR, London Stansted (STN), EMA, Birmingham (BHX), Doncaster/Sheffield (DSA), Glasgow Prestwick (PIK), and Cardiff (CWL).

Based on its current growth plan, HC plans to add one freighter to its fleet in the first half of 2025.
