Oman Air, Qantas Launch Loyalty Program Partnership

DALLAS - Oman Air (WY) announced a new partnership with Australia’s Qantas (QF). As the Muscat-based airline prepares to join the Oneworld alliance in 2025, the agreement with Qantas will allow Sindbad members to redeem their Miles on flights with Qf.

Passengers flying with the Australian airline will also have access to WY’s loyalty network, redeeming rear seats for destinations like London, Paris, and Milan. Recently, Oman Air announced a new route to Rome Fiumicino and boosted its connections with Moscow.

Comments from the CEOs

Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis said, “Our partnership with Qantas reinforces our commitment to bring even greater value and rewarding experiences to our loyal members. This collaboration not only enhances the travel journey by offering more ways for members to redeem their hard-earned Miles but also plays a key role in attracting Qantas’ huge membership base to come and experience Oman.

He continued, "As we look towards our highly anticipated Oneworld membership next year, "we look forward to providing more rewards and seamless travel across all member airlines.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance added, “We know how much our members love to use their points to book international reward seats, with record numbers redeemed in the last twelve months. Frequent Flyers also tell us that exploring new destinations is high on their priority list, so that this partnership will be welcome news for members eyeing their next overseas adventure. Oman Air is an impressive airline with an expansive network, a modern fleet, and a premium offering that rivals any international carrier.”

There are currently no non-stop flights between Oman and Australia. However, passengers will benefit from this partnership on other routes, such as Sydney to Bangkok and Jakarta by Qantas or up to 6 flights by Oman Air from Muscat to London, Paris, Milan, and Dubai, among others.

Exploring Airline History Volume I

David H. Stringer, the History Editor for AIRWAYS Magazine, has chronicled the story of the commercial aviation industry with his airline history articles that have appeared in AIRWAYS over two decades. Here, for the first time, is a compilation of those articles.

Subjects A through C are presented in this first of three volumes. Covering topics such as the airlines of Alaska at the time of statehood and Canada's regional airlines of the 1960s, the individual histories of such carriers as Allegheny, American, Braniff, and Continental are also included in Volume One.
