DALLAS — Shanghai (PVG) has become the first Asian destination to feature Lufthansa’s (LH) brand-new Allegris product. The German national carrier aims to enhance the onboard customer experience with this upgraded service, now available on daily flights to PVG.
Shanghai is the fourth destination to receive Allegris, following Vancouver (YVR), Toronto (YYZ), and Chicago (ORD). The first flight equipped with Allegris departed as LH726 on August 14 at 10:15 pm from Munich (MUC). The airline remains on track with its timeline for rolling out the new product to various destinations.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Allegris products to Shanghai and convinced that they will meet the needs of various Chinese passengers. Every guest has their understanding of premium. This is why with the Allegris range we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity and premium service along the entire travel chain.” said Jens Ritter, CEO Lufthansa Airlines.
Currently, the route is served by Airbus A350-900, equipped with 8 suites in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy Class, and 201 seats, including 22 seats with more legroom in Economy Class. With positive customer feedback, the airline is optimistic about expanding the Allegris upgrade to various destinations.
The Lufthansa Allegris Rollout
Allegris sees a comprehensive overhaul of Lufthansa’s cabin features, including Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class designs. Updated First Class suites are expected to be available by the end of 2024, offering customers enhanced privacy with floor-to-ceiling doors, extra-wide seats, a large 4K resolution TV screen, and wireless noise-canceling headphones.
In Business Class, passengers can choose from seven seating options: a suite, an extra-long bed measuring 2.2 meters, a privacy seat for passengers with and without a baby, an extra-space seat, a double seat, and a classic seat. All Business Class seats are designed to provide maximum privacy and comfort, with features including an 18-inch 4K TV, wireless charging, and Bluetooth connectivity for personal devices.
Premium Economy seats offer a 99-cm seat pitch, a comfortable leg rest, and ample personal space for working, dining, and relaxing while ensuring privacy from other cabin classes. In Economy Class, passengers benefit from additional legroom with 7 cm more space per seat and classic economy seating. Customers also have the option to select a Free Neighbour Seat, allowing them to keep the adjacent seat vacant.
According to Lufthansa, Bengaluru (BLR) and Cape Town (CPT) are the following potential destinations to receive the Allegris product. Service from MUC is anticipated to start at the end of October 2024.
