DALLAS — Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) is now part of Lufthansa Cargo's (LH) network, and it will be served twice a week going forward.
According to an airline release, the logistics arm of the Lufthansa Group has also begun running freighters to Zhengzhou (CGO) three days a week.
The addition of SZX increases the carrier's reach in the Asian region to 19 destinations and 47 weekly frequencies.
Comments from Lufthansa Cargo CEO
"In the Chinese market, the e-commerce business segment in particular is growing steadily, and we continue to see high demand, especially to Europe. Accordingly, additional air freight capacity is needed to transport goods quickly, compliantly and safely," said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.
"With the expansion of our Asian network, we can now serve even more important freight destinations in China for our customers. This will be possible thanks to the new B777F freighter, which we expect to receive in the course of this summer."
The LH cargo fleet consists of 17 Boeing 777F long-haul freighters and four Airbus A321F medium-haul freighters, plus belly capacities of LH passager aircraft.
