DALLAS — LOT Polish Airlines (LO) is set to take delivery of three Boeing 737-8 aircraft from lessor BOC Aviation, which confirmed that the CFM LEAP-1B engines powering all three aircraft are slated for delivery in 2025.
With a fleet of 680 owned, managed, and upcoming aircraft, BOC Aviation is a top worldwide aircraft operating leasing firm. According to the lessor, 93 airlines in 47 nations and regions were leasing its owned and managed fleet as of June 30, 2024.
LOT operates a network that includes 99 routes, 89 destinations, and serves 50 countries. This extensive network primarily connects through its main hub at Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), which facilitates both domestic and international travel options for passengers.
The airline's destinations span across various regions, including Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, making it a key player in connecting Central and Eastern Europe with the rest of the world.
Boeing737-8 Operations
The Polish flag carrier operates a fleet of eight Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and seven Boeing 787-9s to fly its long-haul trips. Six 737-800s and twenty Embraer ERJ170 and twenty Embraer ERJ190 regional planes make up the remainder of its fleet.
According to Cirium Diio data, LO has 9,248 scheduled flights for August, that is 1,133,9971 seats and 452,537,260 ASMs. for the month, LO will use Boeing 737-8 on a variety of domestic and international routes from Warsaw. As per the Cirium data:
- LO will operate a total of 182 scheduled flights with the Boeing 737-8 aircraft during the month of August 2024.
- These 737-8 flights have a total of 33,800 seats and 38,642,736 available seat miles (ASMs).
The top routes for the Boeing 737-8 are:
- Warsaw (WAW) to London Heathrow (LHR) - 93 flights, 17,316 seats
- Warsaw (WAW) to Barcelona (BCN) - 24 flights, 4,464 seats
- Warsaw (WAW) to Tel Aviv (TLV) - 39 flights, 7,257 seats
Other notable 737-8 routes included flights between WAW and cities like Beirut, Cairo, Paris, Rome, and Tbilisi.
LOT recently celebrated the delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2, which is far quieter than its nearest rival aircraft and has a fuel burn and emissions reduction of 12.5% is the first of three aircraft that should be delivered by October 2024.
The airline became the first operator of the new E-Jets 20 years ago. On March 17, 2004, the Embraer E-170 concluded the first-ever revenue trip from the capital of Poland to Vienna.
