‍DALLAS — According to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), Lebanese authorities have banned pagers and walkie-talkies on all flights to and from Beirut. 

The ban, enforced by Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY), prohibits passengers from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies in any form of luggage or cargo. 

This decision comes in the wake of an incident involving Hezbollah militants, where hand-held devices were detonated across the country in the Levant region of West Asia.

The head of Lebanon's civil aviation authority, Faid El Hassan, confirmed the restriction, which is part of enhanced security measures. Hezbollah has reportedly used pagers for secure communication, fearing their smartphones could be compromised by Israeli surveillance.

Qatar Airways (QR) has also announced a similar restriction for all flights departing from Beirut. This measure aligns with the Lebanese Directorate General of Civil Aviation's directive and applies to checked baggage, carry-on luggage, and cargo, effective until further notice.
