DALLAS – LATAM group introduces a new Economy cabin design for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. With an investment of US$15 million, the redesigned cabin introduces several enhancements to enhance passengers' onboard experience.
One of the key upgrades is the onboard entertainment system. Economy class passengers can now connect their personal headphones via Bluetooth and enjoy a wide range of content on 12-inch high-definition touchscreens. This includes over 170 movies, 550 TV show episodes, 100 music albums, and exclusive content from popular platforms like HBO Max, Paramount+, and Disney+.
In addition, a new interactive 3D map called Panasonic's Arc™ has been incorporated, offering passengers detailed information about landmarks and streets from the air. This allows them to explore and discover iconic places in different cities during their flight.
The LATAM group plans to introduce a total of four aircraft with this new cabin design this year, amounting to a total investment of US$60 million. These enhancements position the LATAM group at the forefront of the region in terms of onboard entertainment and reflect the unique spirit and pride of South America.
New Seat Offering
Another exciting feature of the redesigned cabin is the incorporation of seat upholstery made with 57% recycled leather. This sustainable material production reduces carbon emissions by up to 60% and saves water and land use by up to 55%.
While this is the second wide-body aircraft to feature seats with recycled leather upholstery, all narrow-body aircraft in the LATAM group fleet already include this eco-friendly material.
The renovated spaces also offer headrests, a 6-inch recline, and a renewed onboard entertainment system with 12-inch screens.
Additionally, Economy passengers have the option to travel even more comfortably in LATAM+ seats, which provide extra legroom, greater recline, exclusive luggage space, and priority boarding and disembarkation.
