DALLAS — IAG Cargo has inaugurated a cutting-edge London Operations Control Centre (LOCC) at its largest hub, London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
This advanced facility is designed to manage over 2,000 freight movements daily, enhancing operational efficiency with its sophisticated audio-visual and data visualization technology. The LOCC monitors and forecasts operations by leveraging real-time data, allowing the team to address potential service risks proactively.
A noteworthy feature of the new center is a digital wall that enhances the control team's coordination, situational awareness, and visualization of critical operational data.
This innovation enables staff to swiftly access real-time freight and equipment positioning information across LHR's expansive hub, all integrated within a centralized platform.
To support the LOCC’s 24/7 operations, IAG Cargo has appointed six new senior managers to oversee day-to-day activities.
David Rose, Director of London Operations at IAG Cargo, emphasized that the new LOCC is a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing transformation.
The director also noted that the facility reflects IAG Cargo’s commitment to operational excellence and customer-focused service, equipping teams with the tools to anticipate and mitigate issues before they arise.
IAG Cargo is the single business created following the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo in April 2011.
