DALLAS — Fiji Airways (FJ) has unveiled plans to introduce the first-ever nonstop flights between Nadi, Fiji, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in Texas, US.
This new route, which will commence in December 2024, will enhance connectivity between the South Pacific and one of the world's busiest travel hubs, providing passengers with a more convenient travel option. By establishing this direct link to DFW, FJ will connect travelers to an additional 247 destinations.
The service will operate thrice weekly, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For this 13-hour journey, FJ will deploy its Airbus A350-900 XWB. The aircraft will feature 301 economy class seats and 33 business class lie-flat seats offering all-aisle access.
Andre Viljoen, CEO and Managing Director of Fiji Airways, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating that it represents a significant milestone in the airline's efforts to expand its U.S. connectivity and provide more convenient travel options for passengers.
This new route aligns with other strategic initiatives recently announced by the carrier. These include plans to join the American Airlines’ (AA) AAdvantage loyalty program and become a full oneworld alliance member in 2025.
These partnerships will allow AAdvantage and oneworld members to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles when flying with FJ and accumulate status credits.
The inaugural DFW flight is on December 10, 2024, and special introductory fares are now available on the FJ website.
