Etihad Announces Flights to Warsaw, Prague

DALLAS — From June 2025, Etihad Airways (EY) will add the cities of Warsaw and Prague to its extensive network.

Therefore, the Abu Dhabi-based airline will land in Poland and the Czech Republic for the first time in history. Through its mega hub in the United Arab Emirates, it will provide passengers with worldwide connections.

Antonoaldo Neves, the CEO of EY, said, “These routes will not only enrich our network but also offer a great opportunity to strengthen ties with these countries and attract more visitors to Abu Dhabi. We see this as a key part of our growth strategy, helping to drive tourism and support the UAE’s vision for the future.”

The first of the two airports to welcome Etihad Airways is Prague-Vaclav Havel (PRG) on June 02, 2025. Flights from Abu Dhabi (AUH) will run four times weekly. One day later, on June 03, connections to Warsaw-Chopin (WAW) will also begin four times every week.

The airline confirmed that both routes will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, equipped with 28 Business Class and 262 Economy Class seats.

Slowly, Etihad Airways is covering the entire European map in routes flying from Abu Dhabi. Adding Poland and the Czech Republic to the list, few remain to be connected. The airline has not yet landed in most Scandinavian or Balkan countries.

Exploring Airline History Volume I

David H. Stringer, the History Editor for AIRWAYS Magazine, has chronicled the story of the commercial aviation industry with his airline history articles that have appeared in AIRWAYS over two decades. Here, for the first time, is a compilation of those articles.

Subjects A through C are presented in this first of three volumes. Covering topics such as the airlines of Alaska at the time of statehood and Canada's regional airlines of the 1960s, the individual histories of such carriers as Allegheny, American, Braniff, and Continental are also included in Volume One.
