DALLAS — Etihad Airways (EY) launches a nonstop service to Peshawar, Pakistan, further expanding its South Asian network. EY plans to begin flights to Peshawar, Pakistan, on September 29, 2025, and Abu Dhabi on April 11, 2025.
The service from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW) was initially offered five times a week and will increase to daily flights starting November 22, 2025, to accommodate rising demand.
The route will be operated using the airline’s new Airbus A320 family aircraft, configured with eight Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats. EY’s award-winning onboard service guarantees guests an uninterrupted experience and connection.
Strategic Growth in 2025
Peshawar is part of Etihad’s aggressive expansion strategy, which will see 16 new destinations launched in 2025. Major international cities, including Tunis, Prague, Addis Ababa, Warsaw, and Atlanta, will also be added to the global network.
Stronger frequencies on important European routes, like Zurich, Manchester, Frankfurt, Madrid, Paris, and Milan complement these. Furthermore, despite the new capacity to Peshawar, Etihad will boost its Karachi service to 17 weekly flights as of 1st October 2025, providing further flexibility to those flying in and out of Pakistan’s largest city and metropolitan hub.
“We are thrilled to further expand our presence in Pakistan with the launch of our daily service between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar,” Etihad Chief Executive Antonoaldo Neves said in a statement. “This new route reflects our commitment to providing vital connectivity for travelers between Pakistan and the Gulf, Africa, Europe, and North America.”
A More Resilient Pakistan-UAE Corridor
Etihad’s expanding presence in the Land of the Pure underscores the importance of the Pakistan-UAE air corridor. The airline acts as a crucial connection between Pakistan's substantial diaspora in the UAE and the country, serving as a gateway to Europe and North America through Abu Dhabi's strategic hub with daily flights to three to four cities.
The launch of this new service enhances Etihad’s current network in Pakistan, as the national airline already operates in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, reinforcing its ongoing mission to improve connectivity between the Gulf and South Asia.
