DALLAS — Etihad Airlines (EY) has announced its summer 2025 flight schedule. Some new features include increased flight frequencies to European destinations and free stopovers in Abu Dhabi.
Etihad is doubling the frequency of daily flights to European destinations and beyond; the following destinations will see two flights per day: Manchester, Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD), Paris (CDG), Zurich (ZRH), Dublin (DUB), Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC), Milan (MXP), Rome (FCO), and Jakarta (CGK).
The airline has also decided to implement the frequency of some trendy destinations, including Malaga (AGP), which has five flights per week during the summer period, and Sydney (SYD), which has ten flights per week in the Australian hub.
Casablanca (CMN) also increases the frequency of flights to seven per week and Copenhagen (CPH) to five flights per week.
New Destinations
The news does not end there, as EY has decided to expand the global network by annexing new destinations such as Prague (PRG), Warsaw (WAW), Nairobi (NBO), Bali (DPS), Al Qassim (ELQ), and Jaipur (JAI).
As for Prague (PRG), operations will begin on June 2, 2025, with a weekly cadence of four flights. For the Polish capital (WAW); however, flights will take off on June 3, 2024, with four weekly flights. both routes will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Nairobi (NBO) is also of interest. Flights to the Kenyan airport will officially take off on December 15, 2024, ensuring travelers have at least four weekly flights.
Etihad Airways will land four times a week in Jaipur (JAI) and Al Qassim (ELQ).
This frequency expansion follows an increase in the number of passengers carried over the past year: official estimates the company released speak of a 38 percent increase, with 8.7 million passengers carried.
These are highly positive numbers for the airline, which announced as early as 2023 that it would expand its fleet in the next 18 months, and it has done so. EY has 98 aircraft, and the recent additions are dated to the last six months, with six new A321Neo and three Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Stop-over to Support Tourism in Abu Dhabi
Etihad Airways, one of the United Arab Emirates' two flag carriers, continues to announce news and offers its passengers new destinations and free stopovers in the Abu Dhabi hub—free stopovers lasting more than two nights in luxury hotels selected by the airline.
This strategy aims to encourage and develop tourism in the city of Abu Dhabi. Passengers land at convenient times to check into the hotel and have several hours to enjoy the city's beauty.
It is not new that EY wants to pamper its passengers. On September 9, 2024, a partnership with Be Relax was announced to create a spa within the airport so that travelers can relax between flights.
In short, EY shows that it wants to increase the loyalty and preference of its passengers and develop tourism in its hometown by contributing economically and culturally.
