DALLAS – History was made on May 2, 2024, at São José dos Campos (SJK), Brazil, as Embraer celebrated the delivery of its 1800th E-Jet to Royal Jordanian (RJ).
The Brazilian manufacturer demonstrated more than two decades of leadership in the commercial regional market, as it has gained the confidence of over 100 different clients and operators since 2004.
To mark and showcase this milestone with pride in the skies, RJ and the manufacturer agreed on placing a special sticker on the front of the fuselage indicating the 1800th delivery.
The 1800th E-Jet
The 1800th E-Jet, an E-190 E2 will fly for the Jordanian flag carrier over the next few years on dry-lease from Azorra. Interestingly, it is also the first E-190 E2 jet delivered to RJ, as the airline undergoes its regional fleet renewal. However, it already operates two E-195s across Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
Embraer has witnessed a profound technological evolution since the first E-Jet that began commercial operations with LOT Polish Airlines (LO) in March 2004.
Today, the second generation of the E-Jet family offers substantial improvements in fuel efficiency and noise reduction. The Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) has also increased by almost 5 metric tonnes, and the range by 400 nautical miles, compared to its predecessor.
Royal Jordanian still awaits the delivery of three additional E-190 E2s and two E-195 E2s during the following months to complete its order for eight aircraft on lease from Azorra.
