DALLAS — Following last week’s suspension of Tel Aviv-Moscow flights for the next three months, El Al Israel Airlines (LY) has expanded its flight schedule to include high-demand routes between Tel Aviv and major European cities.
In lieu of its weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Moscow, the Israeli flag carrier has increased its weekly flights to Frankfurt from six to eight, Munich from five to six, Paris from 23 to 25, Vienna from five to six, and Zurich from seven to nine.
El Al has increased its weekly flights to Paris from 23 to 25, Vienna from five to six, Frankfurt from six to eight, Zurich from seven to nine, and Munich from five to six.
This decision was made following the tragic plane crash that occurred last month, which resulted in the deaths of 38 individuals when an Azerbaijan Airlines (J2) aircraft was rerouted from Baku to Grozhny in Chechnya.
The aircraft crashed during an emergency landing after shrapnel from a Russian Pantsir missile system attack damaged the J2 E190 as it approached Grozny.

David H. Stringer, the History Editor for AIRWAYS Magazine, has chronicled the story of the commercial aviation industry with his airline history articles that have appeared in AIRWAYS over two decades. Here, for the first time, is a compilation of those articles.
Subjects A through C are presented in this first of three volumes. Covering topics such as the airlines of Alaska at the time of statehood and Canada's regional airlines of the 1960s, the individual histories of such carriers as Allegheny, American, Braniff, and Continental are also included in Volume One.
