Delta Air Lines Becomes WNBA's Official Airline

DALLAS — Delta Air Lines (DL) is now the official airline of the WNBA, marking a significant step in the carrier's ongoing commitment to supporting women's sports.

This new multi-year agreement builds on DL's existing relationship with the WNBA, where it has provided charter services.

As part of this partnership, DL says it will collaborate with the WNBA to create unique content that highlights the athletes' journeys and showcases Delta's dedication to delivering an enhanced travel experience for the league.

As the WNBA's official airline, the Atlanta-based carrier will leverage various storytelling opportunities through the league's media channels, including broadcast, digital, print, and social media. In turn, DL will have the chance to promote the WNBA and share off-the-court travel stories of its players across its own digital and social media platforms.

Comments from Delta CEO, WNBA Commissioner

"We're honored to partner with the WNBA, where every game embodies our shared values of teamwork and perseverance," said Delta CEO Ed Bastian. "We're excited to support these incredible athletes on their journeys and continue Delta's commitment to advancing women's sports."

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the alignment between Delta and the WNBA's dedication to excellence and innovation. "Delta Air Lines shares our commitment to uplifting and empowering women's sports," Engelbert said. "This partnership not only enhances the travel experience for our players but also reinforces our mutual dedication to growing and increasing the visibility of women’s sports. With Delta's support, we are eager to elevate the WNBA and connect with fans in meaningful ways."

Earlier this season, DL expanded its charter program with the WNBA, as the league introduced a full charter service for the 2024 season. Under this expanded agreement, Delta transports all 12 teams throughout the regular season and playoffs.
