DALLAS — On November 18, 2024, the new Delta SkyMile Experiences, a rebrand from the original platform that dates back to 2016, will launch with five new collections of Experiences available to SkyMile members.
This initiative reflects a growing trend in the travel industry to integrate hospitality-related services, offering travelers a seamless way to bundle experiences such as accommodations, dining, and wellness activities.
By allowing accrued mileage points to be redeemed for these services, the approach not only enhances customer loyalty but also transforms frequent flyer programs into comprehensive lifestyle rewards platforms, catering to the evolving preferences of modern travelers.
As stated by Dwight James, the S.V.P. - Customer Engagement and Loyalty, “With Delta’s new SkyMiles Experiences platform, we are bringing even more value to our Members while providing creative opportunities that inspire them to explore, discover and connect even when they’re not flying with us.”
The Experiences on the Platform
The new platform offers various experiences and events to meet all SkyMiles members' interests and passions. It has five collections: Music and film, Sports, Culinary, Wellness and adventure, Fashion, and Art and design. The Experiences can be unlocked by the redemption process or on a bid with miles.
The platform is free for anyone, and members can log in to redeem or bid on the Experiences. More Experiences will be launched twice a week after the launch, and more will land in 2025, with the centennial year of Delta Airlines (DL).
Some bites of the brand new Experiences are the Starbucks Pike Place VIP tour, the Rocketess Dance Workshop, and the Hilton Ultimate Stays Experience.
Delta SkyMiles is the FFP—Frequent Flyer Program—launched by Delta Air Lines in 1981 under the name “Delta Air Lines Frequent Flyer Program.” In 1995, the FFP changed the name to the present One. Earning miles is simple. You can just fly with DL and its partners, and if you’re not very familiar with aircraft, you can pay for purchases by Delta SkyMiles American Express and collect miles.
Delta SkyMiles Experiences is a platform related to the FFP that offers DL SkyMiles Members the opportunity to enjoy different types of experiences and events and purchase them by redeeming the miles.
