CMA CGM Air Cargo Orders four More A350Fs

DALLAS — Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport-based (CDG) carrier CMA CGM Air Cargo (2C) has placed an order for four A350Fs, adding to the four ordered in 2021. The company aims to reinforce its commitment to sustainable transport by opting for the most environmentally efficient aircraft on the market.

The A350F model offers a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its direct competitors and is the only large freighter capable of meeting the CO2 standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from 2028.

Airbus has confirmed orders for 55 A350Fs from airlines including Singapore Airlines (SQ), Cathay Pacific (CX), and the new customer Starlux (JX).

CMA Fleet Status

CMA CGM Air Cargo has also confirmed its acquisition of another Boeing 777F. Initially set to acquire two Boeing 777-200Fs and four Airbus A350Fs, the fleet expansion now includes three 777Fs and eight A350Fs.

According to the company's announcement, the two remaining Boeing 777Fs are scheduled for delivery this year, while the third is expected to join the fleet in the first quarter of the following year. 2C also operates Airbus A330-200F aircraft.

This full order makes 2C the second company to sign up for Airbus’ new A350 freighter, as the French logistics group continues its expansion in the air cargo market. Additionally, 2C and Air France-KLM (AF-KL) had announced their intention to enter into a long-term cargo commercial cooperation in May 2022, which became effective in April 2023, but ended in March 2024.
