China Airlines Places Firm Order for 10 A350-1000

DALLAS — China Airlines (CI) is further enhancing its long-haul fleet capabilities through an additional firm order of ten Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The order confirms an agreement announced in December 2024 and is a considerable step toward the airline’s long-range growth strategy.

The aircraft will operate on long-haul routes to North America and Europe, enhancing CI's existing A350-900 fleet. The increased commonality between the two variants will enable the airline to optimize operations and maintenance efficiencies while improving passengers' travel experiences.

The A350-1000, equipped with state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, can fly up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 kilometers) without refueling. This aircraft also offers a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions compared to earlier generation widebody aircraft.

According to Airbus, the A350 Family has received over 1,360 orders from 60 customers worldwide, with more than 640 aircraft in operation. CI operates various Airbus equipment, including 15 A350-900s for long-haul traffic and an assortment of A321neo and A330 aircraft used for regional flying.
