Cathay Pacific Launches Hong Kong-Dallas Nonstop

DALLAS — Cathay Pacific Airways (CX) has announced the addition of nonstop flights between Hong Kong (HKG) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), broadening its network of connections throughout North America.

Beginning on April 24, 2025, the new route, operating Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, will be CX's sixth passenger destination in the US and its eighth in North America, strengthening the airline's footprint on the continent and enhancing the home hub of Hong Kong's international connections.

Cathay Group Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said, “With our unique position of having deep roots in Hong Kong, being proudly part of China, and connecting the world, Cathay continues to build Hong Kong as a leading international aviation hub that connects people to the most exciting places in the world."

“Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports. With our Cathay Pacific codeshares as well as other flight options, customers can connect to over 190 domestic destinations in the United States, as well as 11 destinations in Central and South America via DFW, further enhancing Hong Kong’s connectivity with North America and important Belt and Road Initiative participating countries.” - Lainia Lau, Cathay Pacific Airways

Cathay's North American Network

Cathay Pacific operates 88 weekly return passenger flights from Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver to North American locations. The airline will use its contemporary Airbus A350-1000 aircraft to conduct four return flights between Hong Kong and DFW each week, enhancing its current network in North America.

In 2025, CX plans to increase the frequency of its passenger services in North America. The airline plans to have 108 weekly return flights by May 2025. This will feature three daily return flights to additional York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, respectively, in addition to the additional Dallas route and one daily return flight to Boston and Chicago. With two daily return flights to Vancouver and thirteen weekly return flights to Toronto, CX is also expanding its number of flights to Canada.

In addition to its current cargo services to the city via Anchorage, CX's new passenger route to DFW will enhance its offerings. Starting this month, Cathay Cargo will add five more return freighter flights to its weekly schedule to North America to accommodate the increasing demand for air cargo during the busiest time of year.

Currently, Cathay Cargo offers up to 37 weekly return freighter flights to North America.
