Arajet Flies Over 500,000 Passengers in Early 2024

DALLAS — Arajet (DM) reported this week that it has achieved a new record by flying more than half a million passengers in the first six months of the year.

The Civil Aviation Board of the Dominican Republic reported that the airline flew some 399 thousand passengers from January to June, which added to the more than 120 thousand passengers in connections reported by the airline, totaling about 520 thousand passengers in the first half of the year.

This total is the same as was flown by DM in all of 2023 and, according to a report by the Dominican Republic Civil Aviation Board, represents 79% of all passenger traffic that flew on Dominica-based airlines.

Arajet looks forward to transporting around 1.1 million passengers by year-end. New routes are planned, including the start of operations at Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) on November 1.

The first low-price airline in the Caribbean region, DM began operations in September 2022 from its base at Las Americas Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo.

According to the airline, Arajet operates a fleet of 10 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which use the latest Boeing Sky Interior designed to make the cabin feel more comfortable and spacious. DM connects 23 cities across 15 countries to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with direct flights.
