DALLAS — Allegiant Travel Company has released its preliminary passenger traffic results for September 2024 and third-quarter performance data.
In September 2024, Allegiant's (G4) scheduled service experienced a slight year-over-year decline in passenger numbers, carrying 969,844 passengers, down 1.9% from 988,981 in September 2023.
The revenue passenger miles (RPM) decreased by 2.7% to 844,968,000, while available seat miles (ASM) saw a 3.4% reduction, reaching 1,014,201,000. However, the load factor increased slightly to 83.3%, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous year.
Departures dropped by 2.2%, totaling 6,796, with a minor decrease in the average stage length, 851 miles, compared to 855 miles in September 2023.
Third-Quarter 2024, Total System Traffic
For the entire third quarter (Q3), Allegiant carried 4,195,572 passengers, a 0.9% decrease from Q3 2023. RPM dropped by 1.1%, while ASM saw a slight increase of 1.1%. The load factor decreased to 85.6%, down 1.9 percentage points compared to last year's quarter. Departures rose by 1.7% despite fewer passengers, and the average stage length remained stable.
For total system traffic, which includes scheduled service and fixed-fee contracts, Allegiant recorded 1,002,903 passengers in September 2024, a 2.4% decline from September 2023. ASM decreased by 3.2%, while departures were down by 2.1%.
In Q3 2024, system-wide traffic saw a slight passenger decline, down 0.8% compared to Q3 2023. However, ASMs grew by 1.5%, and departures increased by 2.2%.
