Allegiant Air Releases Mixed July 2024 Traffic Report

DALLAS – Allegiant Travel Company has announced its preliminary passenger traffic results for July 2024, showing a slight decline compared to last year.

In July 2024, Allegian Air (G4) carried approximately 1.9 million passengers on its scheduled service, a 1.9% decrease from July 2023. Revenue passenger miles also declined 1.7% year-over-year, totaling around 1.68 billion miles. However, the airline experienced a 2.4% increase in available seat miles, with 1.92 billion miles recorded.

The load factor, which measures the percentage of available seating capacity filled with passengers, dropped by 3.7 percentage points to 87.5% from 91.2% in July 2023. Departures increased by 2.7%, totaling 12,580 flights for the month, with the average stage length of flights slightly rising to 870 miles.

When including both scheduled service and fixed-fee contract operations, the total system data shows a 1.8% decrease in passengers year over year, a 3.2% increase in available seat miles, and a 3.6% rise in total departures.

The airline also reported an estimated average fuel cost per gallon of US$2.84 for July 2024.

These figures provide insight into Allegiant’s operational performance, highlighting slight declines in passenger numbers and load factors but growth in capacity and departures.
