DALLAS — Alaska Airlines (AS) has unveiled its latest Disney-themed aircraft, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer (N596AS).

In partnership with Disneyland Resort, the new livery was unveiled at Portland International Airport (PDX), where it greeted guests and flew them down to Santa Ana, California, on AS1298. The theme was inspired by Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog,” made by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

"Every journey should be as magical as the destination, and Tiana's Bayou Adventure Flyer brings that wonder to the skies in a way that perfectly complements our commitment to creating remarkable journeys," said Eric Edge, vice president of brand and marketing at Alaska Airlines.

"This aircraft captures Princess Tiana's love for exploration and adventure, inspiring our guests to embrace new possibilities and create memories along the way."

This Boeing 737-800 pays homage to Bayou Country at the Disneyland theme park. The design took over 2,000 hours to paint in Spokane, WA, and the aircraft was out of service for 24 days to complete the detailed design.

It includes characters of Louis the Alligator and Princess Tiana, who is the first Disney Princess to be featured on an aircraft. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened last year when it replaced the famous Splash Mountain.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Flyer becomes the ninth Disneyland Resort-themed aircraft to fly for Alaska Airlines and will fly throughout the entire Alaska network for the next few years.

"For more than 25 years, Alaska Airlines and Disneyland Resort have collaborated to bring magic and happiness to the skies," said Sybil Crum, vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at Disneyland Resort. "As Disneyland Resort prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary, this latest addition honors our legacy and looks ahead to a bright future with Princess Tiana leading the way."

The special Disney livery joins the other three currently in service, including “Mickey’s ToonTown Express” (N565AS), “Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort” (N538AS) and “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort” (N537AS), which is the oldest Disney theme plane.
