DALLAS — Alaska Airlines (AS) will be introducing new routes and increasing capacity to popular West Coast destinations as part of its commitment to growth in the state.
Starting from this fall, AS will be adding its 39th nonstop destination from San Diego with service to Las Vegas. Additionally, the airline will introduce new service between Los Angeles and Pasco, as well as bringing back its Los Angeles to Reno route.
As the only airline based on the West Coast, AS is dedicated to growing its presence in Southern California. The new schedule solidifies the carrier's position as the airline serving the most nonstop destinations from San Diego, with the addition of the new Las Vegas service.
New Route Schedule
Alaska Airlines is launching several new routes and increasing service to others starting October 1, 2024, with varying frequencies:
New Routes:
- San Diego to Las Vegas: 4x Daily, Year-round
- Los Angeles to Pasco: 1x Daily, Year-round
- Los Angeles to Reno: 2x Daily, Year-round (Operated in summer 2023)
Routes with Increased Service from LAX:
- Seattle: 13x Daily
- Portland: 8x Daily
- Eugene: 2x Daily
- Spokane: 2x Daily
- Medford: 2x Daily
- Boise: 3x Daily
- Santa Rosa: 3x Daily
- San Jose: 5x Daily
- Las Vegas: 6x Daily
Positive Reactions
Kimberly Becker, the president and CEO of San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, expressed pleasure at the continued growth of Alaska Airlines at San Diego International Airport.
She highlighted the significance of the new nonstop route to Las Vegas, providing yet another travel option for Southern Californians and easy access to San Diego for Nevadans.
Similarly, Doug Webster, the interim chief operations and maintenance officer at Los Angeles World Airports, shared his anticipation for the new routes and expanded services from Alaska Airlines.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to grow the partnership with the airline, which offers a variety of travel options for passengers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
