DALLAS — This morning, Israeli start-up airline AirHaifa (E2) conducted its inaugural international flight between Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) and Larnaca International airport (LCA), Cyprus. Since it commenced operations last month, E2 has exclusively operated flights to Eilat.
The low-cost carrier (LCC) had initially intended to operate flights from Haifa airport; however, this is presently not feasible due to the security situation in the northern region.
The new carrier will use an ATR72-600 aircraft, featuring an all-economy cabin offering 72 seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration. The first of two ATR 72-600 was delivered in July, following a firm order placed in 2023. The LCC offers a new alternative for travelers, especially on domestic routes.
The new Israeli LCC has announced that flights from Haifa airport have been postponed until October 27, contingent upon evaluating the security situation and the necessary approvals.
