FIA2024: Airbus, flynas Sign A320neo, A330neo MoU

DALLAS — Airbus and Saudi Arabian LCC flynas (XY) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 75 A320neo family aircraft and 15 A330-900 on the fourth day of the 2024 Farnborough Airshow.

The new aircraft will join the carrier's fleet, which serves international, local, and regional flights. The new A330-900 will have a two-class design that can accommodate up to 400 people.

The arrival of the A330-900 will help the all-Airbus carrier reach operational efficiency savings from merging the new wide-body aircraft with its A320neo fleet.

Airbus adds that the A330neo aircraft provides improved capacity and range at unrivaled seat costs, allowing XY to compete effectively in the increasing regional market, which is a significant emphasis for the airline.

Today's XY MoU also includes options for an additional 55 A320neo and 15 A330neo aircraft. Last week, XY took delivery of the 53rd new aircraft out of its order for 120 A320neo aircraft from Airbus.
