DALLAS — Air Mauritius (MK) has selected Airbus’ Fleet Technical Management (FTM) services to enhance the operational efficiency of its A350 and A330 fleets.
The Port Louis-based airline has selected Airbus’ Design Studio for cabin interior design services. For an enhanced passenger experience, it has also opted for the latest generation business seats from Stelia Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Atlantic, for its direct order of A350 aircraft.
Charles Cartier, CEO of Air Mauritius, said, “At Air Mauritius, customer satisfaction is our top priority. We are thrilled to announce that our Airbus A350-900 fleet will soon be expanded to seven state-of-the-art aircraft by 2026/27, delivering three additional A350-900."
The CEO added, "This strengthened partnership with Airbus marks a significant milestone for us as we equip our upcoming aircraft with the latest cabin technologies to elevate the customer experience with Air Mauritius to new heights of excellence.”
Improved Operational Efficiency
The Airbus FTM services will support MK with key Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) activities, including engineering support to the Maintenance Control Center.
This will help with health monitoring and solutions for their fleet. Airbus will also support the airline with preventive actions to improve the airframe, aircraft systems, components, and engine reliability. These factors will enhance the aircraft’s operational performance.
“Air Mauritius is a vital link that connects this beautiful island nation to the world. The airline’s growing fleet boasts of the continued investments it is making towards the economic development of the country," said Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus in India and South Asia.
Maillard added, "Airbus aircraft have been part of Air Mauritius’ growth journey for decades and today we are even more proud that they have chosen our services to enhance their operations and elevate the comfort of their passengers."
Upgraded Seating for Enhanced Comfort
For its order of Airbus A350 aircraft, Mauritius’ flag carrier has chosen Airbus’ Design Studio to develop the cabin’s interior design in line with the latest trends, including adopting sustainable solutions.
Furthermore, MK has selected the Opera Business Class seats from Stelia Aerospace for the A350 aircraft it has on order. This is to offer a premium travel experience to passengers.
The Opera widebody business class state-of-the-art seats come with a reverse herringbone configuration and a fully integrated door, which creates personalized spaces for passengers and provides a luxury experience.
The Indian Ocean island carrier has a fleet of Airbus A350-900, A330-900neo, A330-200 and ATR 72-500/600 aircraft. The airline provides air connectivity to the island from multiple destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Indian Ocean.
