FIA2024: Abra Group Signs MoU for Five A350neo

DALLAS — Abra Group has inked an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for five A350-900s to extend its international long-haul operations and capacity.

The first from the South American region for Airbus at FIA2024, the MoU for the A350 is consistent with the airline group's strategic ambitions to provide millions of passengers with greater access to new destinations via long-distance flights.

With this last-minute MoU on Day 4, Airbus ends the show with 144 orders and commitments and Boeing with 118 orders and commitments.

Grupo Abra

Grupo Abra aims to become "one of the lowest unit costs in their respective markets, the leading loyalty programs across the region, and the largest network of complementary routes across its markets."

The four key goals of the group, which is a majority investor of Avianca (AV) and GOL Linhas Aereas (G3) and which. in October 2023, announced the signing of a collaboration MoU with Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR), include:

  • Increasing accessibility, reliability, and sustainability of travel for passengers and driving economic development.
  • Integrating Latin American countries with the rest of the world.
  • Maximizing synergies between two major Latin American carriers and taking advantage of their strong market positions.
  • Creating a strong financial profile to support a network of airlines with one of the lowest unit costs in their industry.
