10 New Routes for Alaska Airlines' Winter Schedule

DALLAS — Starting today, Alaska Airlines (AS) customers will have access to 10 new destinations, connecting the West Coast to top-tier winter destinations.

The Seattle-based airline will fly routes to winter destinations and Latin America. The West Coast carrier said the choice aims to solidify its position as the number one US carrier that operates most routes between North America and Mexico.

The new schedule comprises flights as follows:

  • Fresno – Guadalajara: December 3 to February 12, 2025, daily (737).

  • Fly to the Mountain Slopes

Last but not least, the airline announced the partnership with numerous snowy destinations for the entire 2024-2025 winter season: Mileage Plan members flying to Alaska can enjoy the benefits of Alaskan Alpine Gateway; some of the partners are Sun Peak Resort and Bogus Basin.

Alaska Alpine Gateway was born to connect the West Coast to winter destinations. Thanks to the airports served by AS, enjoying the snow and cruising the slopes will be easier.

As part of the Mileage Plan, the FFP of the oneworld Alliance allows passengers to earn miles and redeem them for new tickets or experiences like the Alaska Gateway.

    Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines, founded in 1932, started operating in 1944 from Seattle Tacoma Airport (SEA). As of today, the airline is part of Alaska Air Group, along with Hawaiian Holdings, Horizon Air, and Mcgee Air Services. Due to the recent merger with Hawaiian Airlines (HA), AS can now offer more than 140 destinations in the US, Asia, and the Pacific.

In 2021, the airline joined oneworld Alliance, which includes 13 global airlines and gives its passengers access to more than 1,000 destinations.

The airline's fleet comprises 324 aircraft with an average age of 8.9 years. It is planning to expand its fleet by six new aircraft.

    Exploring Airline History Volume I

David H. Stringer, the History Editor for AIRWAYS Magazine, has chronicled the story of the commercial aviation industry with his airline history articles that have appeared in AIRWAYS over two decades. Here, for the first time, is a compilation of those articles.

Subjects A through C are presented in this first of three volumes. Covering topics such as the airlines of Alaska at the time of statehood and Canada's regional airlines of the 1960s, the individual histories of such carriers as Allegheny, American, Braniff, and Continental are also included in Volume One.
